It was 1985, that Willie Green’s Organic Farm began with only a ¼ acre plot of leased land in Woodinville. Our first year, We grew and delivered baby lettuce, salad greens and herbs to eight Seattle area restaurants. We also sold our produce one day a week at Pike Place market for a very humble beginning gross annual revenue of $8,500.

Last year, on our own land in Monroe, we grew and harvested between 2500-3500 pounds of salad mix, braising greens, baby spinach, baby arugula, and baby lettuce each week of the season. We wholesale our produce to Seattle area companies, primarily Charlies Produce. In addition we contribute our fine produce to the immensely popular Pike Place Market CSA program. We also take great pride and pleasure in selling directly to the consumer at up to five farmers’ markets each week of the market season, November - May. During the season, we grow and sell 50 to 60 varieties of vegetables and berries to our customers. In the off-season, we offer a winter CSA subscription program to our market customers. Each week they receive nine different varieties of fall and winter produce between October – February.

Our farm has grown from a one-man operation to a bustling family business on 27 acres. We have between 5-8 full time employees, including a farm manager that oversees the day to day operations. We also employ up to 15 seasonal workers to help us during peak harvests.

Over the years we have built a reputation of growing the very finest produce possible. Never content to rest on that reputation, we strive to maintain the strictest quality standards. We are always testing new varieties to provide the most flavorful produce. Each year, we test new varieties in small quantities and compare them to current and past crops. Superior varieties are grown in volume and brought to the markets. Some varieties we have been growing for over ten years and still have not found an equal or superior product. Through our careful seed and plant selection, we strive to provide you with the finest flavored produce available. We also seek to provide you with some variety of produce not readily available in traditional groceries, in additional to the staples. Thirdly, we base many of our growing decisions on what produces best in our unique climate.
